Architect Joaquim Ruiz Millet began writing a novel in 1991 that he would finish 10 years later. During this decade-long gestation period, a page of the unpublished manuscript gave birth to a series of objects like this rug, with spindly lettering that transmutes the work from hands to feet. The original becomes the abstract.

- Makers use a manually-operated pistol to inject pieces of wool, achieving intuitive and fluid lines and an organic composition.
