LM92P Wood Metropolitan Chair | Larsen & Bender Madsen
Nature’s materials, wood and leather, come together in perfect harmony in a new original edition of the Metropolitan Chair with a wood veneer back and leather upholstered seat.
With its organic form and high quality of craftsmanship, the Metropolitan chair falls within the golden era of Danish Modern furniture history. Larsen and Bender Madsen met while studying under leading Danish designer Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Together they designed approximately 300 works, of which the Metropolitan Chair is considered their most significant.
The chair got its break through at the exhibition The Arts of Denmark at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York in 1960, where the most prominent Danish designs were showcased. The chair was consequently named the Metropolitan Chair.
Also available with a fully upholstered seat and back in thick saddle leather as the LM92 Metropolitan Chair.
